Notes from Curriculum NightWe had a wonderful night getting to know everyone. For those of you who could not make it last night, here are some of the topics we covered: - Each morning our classroom will be holding a Morning Meeting, which includes a greeting, new and announcements, shares (verbal or objects are fine) and a group activity. Our wonderful parents last night took part in a typical Morning Meeting! - Our classroom will have a "Peace Place". This is a place for students to go refocus, de-stress, relax or just "take a breather"! We are all very excited to have this new addition to our room. - Homerun sheets are taken home every night to be signed along with their planners. Homerun sheets are used for our parent/teacher communication in case there are any issues at school. Our homerun sheet works alongside the school's "minor and major policies": 2 strikes = a minor, 3 strikes = a major. This is a good way for parents to check-in with their students and see how school and homework are going. -If your student is having trouble with homework please feel free to write us a note and we will address any issues when going through homework first thing in the morning. Please feel free to help your student with homework, but try to send a note letting us know there were problems so we can go back over our lessons. - Community Service will be taking place each week with the students helping around our school community as well as going out into our Vermont community. They are very excited for this opportunity! Any other questions please feel free to contact us. Our contact info is located in the right hand column of our webpage under "Contacts". Thank you!
